26 MP's DEMAND THAT COUNCILS MUST BE MADE TO PROVIDE PUBLIC TOILETS.

Full marks to the 26 MP's led by TIM FALLON who are calling for local councils to be legally obliged to provide public toilets. CLICK on the above IMAGE to ENLARGE and read details of this past weeks BBC news report about the initiative.

At the moment STW does not have the names of the 26 signatories but enquiries are well in hand.

This STW blogger worked in a Labour local authorty at a senior grade for 10 years and so is very well aware that local authorities use monies in very many ways that they are not obliged legally so to do and they could sure use monies to provide puibic toilets if they chose to - however like grot LAMBETH COUNCIL they simply don't choose to do so. And countrywide local authorities are still closing public toilets down to cut budgets.

At the current time LAMBETH LABOUR COUNCIL is in the process of using well over a million pounds on providing a facility specifically aimed at benefitting the local STOCKWELL PORTUGESE COMMUNITY and it is not legally obliged to do so. This expense is happening at a time when we don't even have a single public toilet facility in the central STOCKWELL area. Toilets don't vote eh??

If you repeatedly contact the STOCKWELL LABOUR PARTY with suggestions about provision - such as an automated public loo on the central Stockwell clock tower green they just play 100% totally dumb and never even respond to the suggestion - it doesn't fit with whatever their agenda is and so silence reigns.

Even if you request that STOCKWELL LABOUR approach HYDE SOUTHBANK HOMES offices on the corner of LINGHAM STREET on the Clapham Road to solicit Hyde's participation in the COMMUNITY TOILET SCHEME they again play totally dumb and absolutely ignore the request even if followed up with a reminder. The same cop-out STOCKWELL LABOUR GROUP have a default blog which is supposed to STAND UP FOR STOCKWELL.
